IT'S EASY TO QUIT SMOKING

QUIT SMOKING

It really is easy to quit smoking.  Each time you  extinguish your cigarette you quit.  That part is easy but the more difficult part to understand is why you decide to start again.  Most people in any given day quit smoking 20 times but then decide to start again 20 times.

Next time you put out that cigarette, think about why you smoked it, and what you  got out of it.  The answer is you got nothing out of it, other than building an addiction to nicotine.

Many people cite the following instances they enjoy smoking

  1. During a stressful event
  2. While Relaxing
  3. To Relieve Boredom
  4. To help concentrate
Let's examine these.  Nicotine is actually a stimulant, so in no way does it help you relax.  Rather it raises your heart rate and makes you less relaxed.  But you've been brainwashed by the tobacco companies for so many years showing advertisements with people relaxing and feeling great while smoking that you begin to believe it.  Get this point straight, you have been brainwashed your entire life, it is time to face the facts.  Smoking does not help you  relax.  Nor does it help relieve the anxiety of a stressful situation, but increases anxiety as you drift into a state of withdrawal the minute you put out your cigarette.

Smoking relieves boredom??  Really, what is interesting about standing outside by yourself ingesting smoke into your lungs?  The easy answer is nothing.  And it doesn't help you  concentrate either.   You will find your mind works much better when the blood flows freely throughout and is not restricted by constricted blood vessels.

The next time you extinguish  that smoke, take some time to think before  you light the next one.  Ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish by smoking that next cigarette.  What will it do for you??  The plain simple truth is NOTHING!!!!!!!!!
